Official first day photo

First day of kinder and third grade.  Today is the last day of our third week and yesterday I asked Lulu if she likes her teacher (Ms Dani) and she said, "I just love her.  She's SO nice."

Tommy's teacher is strict but she seems really nice.  He has his own email address now, which is fun, but last night I tried to help him check and we couldn't remember the password.  When he told me the password on the day he created it, I realized that it was overly complicated (clearly someone gave a lecture about numbers and characters and capitals and he took it all to heart).  The teacher has said she can reset it, thank goodness.

I had a rough day on Tuesday and it was Lizzie and her friend Miyu's first day of gymnastics class this term.  So the girls had to get off the bus, put on their gymnastics outfits and get in the car -- all in about five minutes.  And unsurprisingly, this did not go well.  Both cried and we were fifteen minutes late.  I was beside myself and nearly crying when Eli wisely suggested that I ought to just laugh.  So I did, and it all ended well.

Photos from before summer....

I went to Dubai for some shopping and a nice dinner with two of my favorite friends here in May. We had been talking about doing it for a long time, and it was so much fun. I'm hoping to do it again before Christmas, but autumn is always so busy...

And, Tommy and his friend Diana looking so much like teenagers that it just kills me.

The kids being silly and wearing my sunglasses. Careful observers will notice that Tommy will absolutely positively need braces.

A new game (edited, now with answers)

Honestly, it's been busy.  The garage door wouldn't close, then my car wouldn't start, then I decided that the lamps in the living room need to be plugged in which involved finding a guy to come create some outlets where there were none, then I needed new tires and of course I can't ever skip my exercise class, and and and.  Anyway, that's why I am still not really back to blogging as I had intended.  All my free time is sucked up.  And today, I get to hold a little baby while his mommy gets a break from him.  See?  You can't blog while you are busy holding baby Owen (who shares Tommy's birthday).

So, I thought we could work together to delete my note that contains all the funny things the kids have said that I have not yet blogged about.  The game is that you can guess which of my little darlings made the observation or asked the question.
