So, we're moving!

We have now made the necessary announcement to our families so I can share with the remaining four or so of my readers that we are moving to Muscat, Oman.  We hadn't realized this was a possibility until a month or so ago, and initially we were not very excited about it.  But we had a month to consider Oman vs Gabon, and by the end had a fairly long 'pros' list in favor of Oman.

We're not sure when we'll move (it is possible that the kids and I will stay in London until Christmas).  But, we hope you will come visit us.  It's supposed to be beautiful there.

  1. Wow...that is exciting! Looking forward to hearing some of that pros list.

Margaret and I are watching the cycling in our hotel room right now. Debating whether to tell her you watched it live...she might get obsessed looking for
    Tommy and Lizzie!

  2. WOW! Congrats on the move. When do you go and how long do you guys plan to be there for?

  3. We did end up looking for you...Margaret was sure she spotted you guys more than a few times. She decided to cheer for "orange" in the last 5 minutes or so, so she was thrilled at the win.

  4. Wow, what a wild ride. Eli's career certainly keeps things interesting, doesn't it?! I'm guessing this will be another exciting project for him and certainly an interesting cultural experience for you and the kiddos. I hope you don't have to live in a different city from Eli for long - speaking from experience, that is a tough gig for everyone! Oman isn't on our travel list, but if GG needs to go to Dubai next year, I'll keep you posted as it's close and maybe I'll just have to tag along... ;-)

  5. It's fairly inconvenient that you're living all of these interesting places while I have two small children. I'm afraid of the jetlag. I totally would have visited five years ago.

  6. So many comments, friends! Thank you! Eli will go sometime in September. We will know next week when the kids and I will move. We think we'll be there for two years. And yes! Eli's career keeps everything very interesting. I'm pleased to report that it's interesting in a nice way (for now, anyway)! And tartanfrog it would be AWESOME if you could accompany Greg to Dubai and pop over for a visit. I would just love to see you.

SEW, the jetlag is pretty bad. Kids also have a negative impact on the cost of airfare.

THANKS FOR THE COMMENTS. I shall do another post with some photos soon.
